Nancy Saleme and I, Patricia Cazorla, form a collaborative artist duo as aunt and niece. Over the past decade, our joint artistic journey has manifested in various public art projects, encompassing 2D, 3D, ground murals, sculptures, and installations. Our creative exploration draws inspiration from social issues, identity, and culture.
Informed by a passion for modern architecture, French Rococo, Fauvism, Pointillism, Pop Art, and contemporary design, our interactive public art interventions range from semi-figurative to pattern-like abstractions. Born from our Latinx heritage, our pieces are centered around color, with a unique palette of bright and fluorescent shades inspired by the light of the tropical natural ecosystem and vibrant hues found in ethnic textiles from the high Andes mountains.
The working-class immigrant community has profoundly influenced our artistic development, reflecting and resonating with their struggles. Over more than a decade of collaboration, our projects have transitioned into a more personal vision, fostering profound connections with the communities they inhabit. Each piece carries a socio-political message, seamlessly blending beauty with meaning, and is constructed with precision and craftsmanship. These artworks echo powerful narratives of resilience, compassion, diversity, and tolerance.
We aspire to break boundaries in our artistic exploration, utilizing our creations to address and transcend societal barriers.
